My perfect FT Weekend would be...

Drive to Elgol, fast RIB to Rum, walk and visit mausoleum, wonder the history & red deer, return by RIB glancing at Landseer's Loch Coruisk

The island of Rum is one of Scotland's least visited gems, almost a Munro to climb, it's over-run with red deer, the Buller family were 19th century Bransons, complete with their lonely mausoleum on the west coast (a sublime spot in good weather) and the local ferry service is wanting, which makes the perfect excuse to take a fast boat across from Elgol. Never been but weather permitting, we go next week so can we have two business class tickets to Japan instead!
